BELIEF IS THE AWAKENING

Salvation has for a very long time been misunderstood, making the approach to everything else in the faith transactional. Yet, truly, salvation is not something we get by believing the gospel. All mankind was saved over 2000 years ago in the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ. So, people are already in salvation, but the preaching of the gospel is still very necessary because it is by it that people can believe, awake to and enjoy their already saved state (Romans 1:16, Romans 10:13-15). This salvation includes the freedom to know God and live in the experience of eternal life. So, eternal life is not imparted at the point of belief. But through the gospel, people's eyes open and they awake to it (Acts 26:18). This is what makes the difference between the believer and the unbeliever in this world. Believing, awakens to what was already real, so it can be experienced and enjoyed in physical living.
